Whats wrong in America: The Flint Water Crisis

An Article by Streetsill.com

In an election year, we the people have a chance to change things. But in order to change the current state of America, we have to be honest with ourselves and define the things that are going wrong. One of the things in recent news that has saddened me to the core is the water crisis in Flint, MI. Issues like this, among others, must be addressed if we are to have a chance at a real future as true unite citizens of America, and the world.

For those who do not know, Flint MI is in a state of emergency due to the local water supply being contaminated by lead poison. Its a sad situation because the working people of the city don’t deserve this. We are the richest country in the world, so how could this possibly be so? In 2016, a city in the US has water like a third world country? I just read an article on CNN.com and it talked about how some families are using more than 200 bottles of water per day.

The thing that almost brings tears to my eyes is the fact that I have a daughter, and I could not imagine her looking up to me andsaying Daddy, please do something to help me, or Daddy please help me get better. What makes me angry is that these Governors, and Senators, these Mayors and local Congressmen, they have children to. They should know how damaging this is, but do they care? No, they think its a joke and are too busy lacing their fat greedy pockets with the hard money of tax dollars that WE the people go to work for.

So my question is what we gonna do? Will we force the powers that be to change these things? Or will we sit back and allow them to kill us off one by one. Will we take a stand? Or are we just too busy to even care?
